Mexican Scramble Format and Rules:

The team members have been assigned either a 1 or 2, as noted on your team's scorecard. Prepared scorecards and a start-sheet will be available at the Starters Hut. You both tee off on every hole. After both players have teed off, roll the dice. Whoever’s number is rolled is the tee shot that is to be used on that hole - if a 3, 4, 5 or 6 is rolled the team may choose which drive to use.

Both players proceed to hit from within one club length, no nearer the hole, from where the selected tee shot came to rest. If a selected shot is in the rough or bunker, each player must play from the same condition. For each successive shot, select the preferred shot and each player hits from within one club length, no nearer the hole.

Once on the green, each player may putt from within six inches of the selected ball. The first ball in the hole is the scoring ball for the group.

  • If a 1 is rolled: Player 1 (i.e. Players name in column A) has their tee shot used
  • If a 2 is rolled: Player 2 (i.e. Players name in column B) has their tee shot used
  • If the numbers 3, 4, 5 or 6 are rolled, ANY tee shot may be selected

Maximum Playing Handicaps: Men 40 - Ladies 54

Scoring:

Stroke-play (Medal) record the gross score for each hole on the scorecard. All scorecards must be signed and verified before turning in to the Committee member handling scoring on the day. The team handicap will be deducted from the team gross score.

  • Team Handicap allowance: 35% of lowest Course Handicap and 15% of highest course handicap
