Dine After 9 - The Nearly Oktoberfest Theme

Friday 15th September 2023 - County Course front 9 Q,
Men play from Yellow Tees
Ladies play from Red Tees

A mixed social golf competition played on the front 9-holes of the County Course - Men off Yellow Tees and Ladies off Red Tees. Prepared Scorecards and a start-sheet will be available at the Starter's Hut.

Once we finish we will have the presentation and a meal from the selected theme served in the Trophy Bar. This round is Oktoberfest themed with menu TBC.

Entry Fee £12 INCLUDING PRIZES payable through IG Website from your account accessed from: Home Screen --> Menu --> My Golf --> My Account

Once players have entered then they must commit to playing - If you can't play you must notify the social committee or The Essex reception no later than 3 days prior to this event. Any "No" Shows will be charged the Entry Fee which is £12. Dietary requirements must be submitted by noon 10th September.

Reverse Tees 2-Ball Format and Rules:

Played as a 2 person team - with a "Banger Ball" (aka Mulligan, Do-Over) allowed on the 1st Hole if either tee shot goes into the water on the left or right

Each hole is played as follows:

  • First shot: Highest Handicap player tees off from Yellow tees - Lowest Handicap player tees off from Red tees
  • Second shot: Lower Handicap player hit's the Higher Handicap players’ tee shot and the Higher Handicap player hits the Lower Handicap players' tee shot
  • From there the players play each others shots again but continue and finish the hole with that ball
  • Both players scores are entered on the card and added together for a team score on each hole
  • Playing Handicap Allowances: Men 40 - Ladies 54


Stableford scoring on each hole with both scores entered and added together for a team score on each hole. All scorecards must be signed and verified before turning in to the Committee member handling scoring on the day.
