The Essex

Senior's triangular RD1 (Home leg)

Wednesday 8th May 2024, Yellow Tees, County Course

(95% handicap allowance)

Today the seniors played the 1st round of the triangular.

We welcomed our good friends from Three Rivers and made new friends from Crondon Park.

This is a three round friendly competition play at each club so today was at the Essex.

Its played off a Stapleford format where you play in pairs from in each club and you score the best from the pair. At end of Eighteen hole you have a total score.

All the the total scores from one club are added together toget a overall score for that club.

This is 2BBB and there were 16 players form each club so each club will have eight scores added together

We had NTP for all three clubs and they were all won today.

Back to the day where all the seniors from The Essex, Three Rivers and Crondon Park arrived and were eventually in the golf bar we started explaining the day and introducing all the seniors in there pairs and who they are out with, also where they start and tee time.

Tea & Coffee had been supplied and afterwards we was all having the meal in Flight suite.

The weather was very sunny and starting to get very warm so a great day to be playing golf at The Essex. The course was superb according to the visiting seniors and was a pleasure to play on. Many thanks due to The Essex ground staff again keeping the course in such good condition.

Once all the players had finished we went up to start the meal prepared by Chief Mark and brought out by The Essex staff who were very professional and polite. At this point wish to thank the young lady who (down stairs) who took all the payments for the day and was extremely busy.

The meal was superb and well received by all the players.

We then announced the NTPs starting with Crondon Park and the winner was

Keith Wood with Peter Hanley Crondon Park Captain (very good friends)

NTP for Three Rivers was

Toby Morgan also with Peter

NTP for The Essex was

Malcolm Payne also with Peter

Now the main reason for today the scores and in third place were

The Essex with a score of 289

second place were

Three Rivers with a score of 305

So this means the winners today were

Crondon Park with a score of 316. Well done today.

We also had a scratch card to raise money for Seniors Captains charity St Helena Hospice, this was won by the Tree Rivers Vice Captain Richard Jordan ( camera shy) he received £20 and the rest went tonthe charity.

A great start to this competition but the next round at Crondon Park on Monday 17th June it will be a different story where by the Essex will overturn the score and be winning going to Three Rivers.

A big thankyou to all the team from the Essex you as always make our days in the senior section so worthwhile.

Have a great rest of the week enjoy your golf and get practicing.

Thankyou
