Today the Essex seniors played Hintlesham in a friendly match at the Essex.

Both teams consisted of 16 seniors all at different levels of handicaps so there were some shots given

We met in golf bar at 8am this morning where everyone was introduced to there playing partners and given there score cards also NTP for Hindlesham on the 5th hole in one and a very hard NTP on the 12th in two.Tea / Coffee was ready on arrival and around 8.30 we proceeded to the putting green and got ready to start the friendly match. We had four tee times on front and four on back to allow everyone to get back in a shorter time, many thanks to the Essex for allowing two tee starts.

Every senior completed there round and we had winners on both NTPs.

We all meet back in golf bar where all results we collected by Johathan Moser ( Captain of Hindlesham) also the NTP sheets returned with the winners on. We also had a scratch card which everyone contributed and the remaining monies were for our charity St Helena Hospice.

At 2.15pm we all proceeded to the flight bar in readiness for the two course meal and the announcements of the day.

We had our meal and we must give the staff a big thankyou for us for such a great meal.🍟🍻

We then got Jonathan to announce the winners.

NTP On 5th for Hindlesham was won by

Sean Lynch with Essex seniors Captain presenting him with winning bottle of wine, congratulations and well done.👍

NtP on the 12th for Essex was won by

David Livingstone also presented by the Captain with his winning bottle of wine. Again congratulations well done. The biggest cheer was the the Essex Captain landed on the green but ended up on the fringe so did not win. It was a big ask to achieve this for the seniors as they are only use to the 5th hole in one.🫢

The result of the day was a draw

This is the results on right hand side proving that a good performance by all seniors from Essex and Hintlesham, a big well done to all.

Finally we scratch off the winning team (Football  teams) which was Rochdale and this was won by

Andy Mayne see here with his £20 winnings with Essex Captain Well done, the rest of the money we go to St Helena Hospice and a big thankyou for that. 💷

We all wish to thank the staff who served today and a brilliant meal prepared today, so a big thankyou to all those staff.🫵

i wish to thank all the Essex seniors for playing today and giving it a good go in a day made for golf, a special mention to David Adams for stepping in this morning so we still was able to put out sixteen seniors, many thanks.🤝

The return match at Hindlesham is on Wednesday 3rd July.
