The rain came early but 6 mixed pairs and 6 ladies pairs took part in the Valentines 2 step. Considering the amount of rain, the fairways and the greens were in relatively good condition although you sometime needed to trudge through the surrounding muddy ground to get to your ball. As a consequence of the weather, it was decided to miss out holes 15 and 16.

The mixed competition was won by Lynda and Ian Dunbar with a grand score of 55. In second place were Robin and Brenda Reeve on 48.

Jane Kirk and Angela Frankland were the winners of the ladies section with 27 on a unanimously decided reduced 9 hole competition.

The competition was followed by a very good meal of pie, mash and vegetables and a raffle and a quiz. A £100 was made on the raffle.

Well done to all participants who played in constant rain.
