Today the Essex Seniors played a friendly match vs Newton Green Seniors. Captain for the day was Richard Watson, who introduced today’s pairings and helped reacquaint the players some of which had played away at Newton Green.
Many of those games in April were close run, but Newton Green won that match 6-2. But clearly home advantage is important in this fixture and parity was restored with a 6-2 win for the Essex Seniors today - well done all.

On the Nearest the Pin challenges, David Walker won for Newton Green and an embarrassed captain for the day Richard Watson won for the Essex.

The visitors were very impressed with the course and particularly the greens, with an absence of pitch marks.

After a tasty Lasagne, we were served generous slabs of cheesecake - all very tasty and well received.
