Well, the last on course Dine after Nine was held this evening with 10-teams taking part in the tricky Reverse Tees format.

It was interesting to hear the conversations around the dinner table about where and how players had to hit their next shot, after hitting the perfect drive that was down the middle of the fairway!

The weather cooperated and we were able to get the 9-holes in, although the last group had to deal with some adverse situations that was a bit of a shame and maybe we can learn from that next year.

Onto the winners on the evening:

• Nearest the Pin on the 5th:
  • Ladies: Keng Davis (too good a shot in to not win it - even if it was the 3rd shot)!
  • Gents: Gavin Childs - first group out and no-one able to beat it!

• Reverse Tee Copetition
  • 3rd: Ange & Steve Frankland with 31-pnts - despite the 3rd hole where they put each other behind trees and giggling all the way!
  • 2nd: Laurence Parr & Paul Thompson with 36-pts - no drama, just good golf.
  • 1st: Kieran Longman & Adam Levoi with 39-pts - even though they only got a total of 3 shots between them! Well done guys!

• True / False Quiz: Tizzy orchestrated tonight's quiz which was based on our Oktoberfest theme and Brian Gowers won this 50 / 50 just by keeping his hands to himself!

A big thank you to Mark and the F& B team for providing the amazing food which included traditional Oktoberfest dishes which were lapped up and enjoyed by all.

It ended up being quite an emotional end to the night with Justin presenting Karen with a beautiful arrangement of flowers as a thank you for helping to organise the Social events over the last few years - Karen is stepping down from the Social Committee and if anyone is interested in getting involved in this fun role contact Julian Baines, Tizzy Learey or Justin Trueman and let them know.
