This week was the Essex Seniors first Charity event of the year , in aid of Essex Air Ambulance (EHAA).
A terrific turnout of 82 golfers set off on a shotgun start at 9 am on Wednesday. After some chilly and challenging winds for the first few hours, the sun shone on us, and avoided the rain of the day before.
Karen Gowers did her magic for an Air Ambulance themed Putting Competition, whilst the washing mc (?) was used for the Chipping competition too.
Simon Larking also offered his services too for a 'Beat the pro' challenge on hole 5.
The Club were very supportive with half way house, manned by the EHAA team, with snacks and donations plus some beautiful cakes from mark and his catering team.
As well as a successful raffle, there was a auction following a tasty two course meal in the Flight suite.
Monies raised are being totalled up and we will update further once we have the figure.
We played 4-ball better ball for the competition and the winning pair Roger Winchester and Roy Raison with a magnificent 50 points, seen above with Malcolm Hobbs presenting the trophy.
Amongst the others prize winners, we would like to call out Stephan Frankland and Karl Bowden who donated their winning cash straight over to Air Ambulance team- a very nice gesture.
We had support from members, local businesses & club colleagues for both raffles prizes and event sponsorship.
Hobbs Estate were the main sponsor for the day so a big thankyou to them.
We also need to thank Toolchimp as another sponsor who are based in the Earls Colne business park.
And finally to all those who took part and donated and all the help , as this event would not be so successful without you all.
A big Thankyou from Miles and Ian (Seniors Charity Team).
