16 Players braved the conditions for the annual Burns Night Celts v Sassenachs Matchplay Competition. After a hard fought series the results were:

So the overall match score was 2-2, an honorable draw for the second year running meaning the Sassenachs retain the trophy. 

After the golf, the teams gathered for a traditional meal Scottish soups, Haggis, Neeps and tatties, and a choice of Scottish themed desserts. The food was extremely good, and we extend our thanks to Chef Gareth for his work. Before the meal a period of silence was observed to the memory of past captain, and the donor of the Celts v Sassenachs Trophy, Dick Steels who passed away recently, followed by Alan Swan delivering the Scottish "Lord's Prayer" which is somewhat different to the one we learnt at Sunday School!

Ahead of the main course, Alan, in his full clan dress, addressed the Haggis before stabbing it symbolically ready for serving.
